The Richard K. Dean Photograph Collection contains approximately 4,500 black and white negatives taken by Glens Falls photographer Richard K. Dean. Dean's extensive black and white photography of the Glens Falls area spans the years from 1949 until the early 1980s. Many of these photographs were taken for local newspapers, especially the Glens Falls Times, and show events in Glens Falls, N.Y., and neighboring communities, particularly Lake George. Subjects include businesses, schools, churches, synagogues, the military, recreation and theater, international visitors, foreign students, accidents and disasters, along with political, civic, business, cultural, and charitable organizations.
